Take Back the Night

The ERI will be at and marching in this years Take Back the Night event. Come and support with joy and fun. (Take Back the Night FB event)

Joyful revolutions are the songs sung defiantly when they demand our silence, these revolutions are the spaces boisterous laughter and incessant dancing in the streets. Cultivating kinship and communities of care, we exceed the need to respond because we rebuild our own pathways with courageous intention.

Take Back the Night, an annual event organized by SACHA, is a powerful opportunity for survivors and their supporters to actively build connections, assertively reclaim our right to safety, and courageously stand up against violence.

TBTN centers the experiences of women and gender non-conforming folks. Men who would like to support are invited to self organize and let us know about what solidarity looks like for you.

This year’s event will include screenprinting, music, performances, community tables, quiet space, dancing, art and lots more, including an unapologetic reclamation of community and joy.

6:00pm – We Gather
7:00pm – We Rally
7:30pm – We March

We will have both an HSR and a DARTS buses following the march for folks who are not able to march.

If you are not able to march the entire route there is a short cut back to City Hall at Summers Lane near the Hamilton Convention Centre. There will be a TBTN marshal waiting there to walk with folks back to City Hall.
