2006 Event:
Attn: RIDERS I wanted to take a moment to thank all of you who have participated in our EVERYONE RIDES CHARITY EVENT for the last couple of years. This program was started specifically to raise money to buy bicycles for the children in our community who need them the most. Through our work with the Boys and Girls Club of Lee Co. (and previously the DCF) we have been able to buy over 60 Specialized, Schwinn and Giant Bicycles.
Our 2006 Event will be held on Sunday, November 12th at Buckingham Park in Lehigh Acres. We have made a couple of changes to the event starting with the location. By moving to Buckingham Park we will be able to make the event safer and it saves us enough money to buy 10 more bicycles.
This year we will offer four separate fully supported routes. 15 miles, 30 miles, 62 miles or 100 miles. This should make collecting donations much easier where as you should know how far you are going to ride before the event starts.
The 100 Mile Ride begins at 7:30 The 62 Mile Ride begins at 7:45 The 30 Mile Ride begins at 8:00 The 15 Mile Ride begins at 8:15
The other major change this year is that not only will every penny donated go directly to buy bikes, but thanks to our corporate sponsors ALL OF YOUR REGISTRATION MONEY GOES DIRECTLY TO BUY BICYCLES AS WELL. Our goal this year is to raise enough money to buy 100 BIKES! We know with the support of our local clubs and riders we should be able to reach our goals.
